Terrific Tuesday Meals (TTM)was founded in June 2010 to serve families, individuals facing financial hardship, and those experiencing homelessness. Since then, TTM has relied on a dedicated group of volunteers from local churches and our community to cook and distribute weekly meals. We also connect our guests with additional resources for further assistance when needed
. One key partnership has been with KentHOPE Women’s and Children’s Day Center, where we began providing weekly meals to women and children in February 2014. In February 2015, we expanded our efforts to serve dinners to the unhoused in downtown Kent at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Then, in May 2016, we began serving dinner weekly to clients of Vine Maple Place, particularly those attending parenting and life skills classes. Both KentHOPE and Vine Maple Place are vital community resources, offering immediate relief and long-term support to women and families in crisis, helping them rebuild and achieve self-sufficiency.
TTM currently provides between 225 and 250 dinners each week to support those in need in our community. One meal is served monthly at St. Stephen the Martyr Parish Hall at 5:30 PM on the last Tuesday of each month, except in December, June, July, and August. During those months, we pause in-person dinners at St. Stephen’s to accommodate holiday celebrations and summer break.
