K-5th Grade faith formation
Welcome to Children's Formation at St. Stephen's!
For Kindergarten-5th Grade, most everything will be Wednesdays, 6:00pm - 7:30 pm. We frequently offer Family Fun Nights for the whole community.
This program is for registered parishioners. If your family is not yet registered in the parish, you can let us know when you sign-up your child. We will help you get registered. (You can do it online, and you need both Parish Registration for your family AND Faith Formation Registration for each child.) For St. Anthony parishioners (part of our parish family): We are happy for you to join us! You can choose between the programs at St. Anthony and St. Stephen the Martyr. Ideally, contact St. Anthony's faith formation first, so you are fully aware of their offerings. (They are wonderful!)
Sacrament Preparation: We prepare children to receive Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and, in some cases, Confirmation. It takes more than one year to be prepared. If you want more information about Sacrament Preparation, click HERE.

BASIC Program elementsBe part of the Community
Attend weekly Sunday Mass and participate in the Wednesday night Family Masses, Family Advent Night and Family Lent Night. These are included on your calendar. It is mandatory that you attend the Opening Family Mass , Wednesday, September 17. (Orientation: 6:00-6:30: Mass: 6:30-7:30.)
Parents Teach their Children
This program includes parents, who are the first and most important teachers of faith to their children.- Parents teach at home - 2-3 times a month. They open the Bible and talk about faith with their children. (We provide simple materials.) If they like, parents can add extra, more active activities.
- Parents attend class at church with their child - once a month. (All family members are welcome.) This includes fun activities and learning with other families, class time for children, and parent break-out sessions.
- Family Masses are also an important part of our program. This year we will have 3 Family Masses. (They'll be on your schedule.)
Supplies
Pick up books and schedules at the Opening Family Mass, 6:00-7:30 pm, September 17. (This is required.) You'll need them so you are ready to start on: September 24. -
Startup DatesStarting 9/9/25, registration is limited. and admissions for sacrament formation will be on a case-by-case basis, approved by Shannon Battles, Director
